Dutch fastman Marijn van der Berg timed his dash completely in a brisk headwind to say Trofeo Ses Salines at Challenge Mallorca for a second time in three years.
The EF Education-Easy Post racer comfortably fended off a late assault by Anthony Turgis (TotalEnergies) to repeat his 2024 win and take the primary victory of the season for his crew. Erlend Blikra (Uno-X Mobility) claimed third.
Although Nils Politt (UAE Team Emirates) tried for a late solo assault, the sprinters crew stored the second race of 5 of the one-day Challenge Mallorca sequence underneath agency management within the essential remaining part.
Van der Berg was positioned in pole place within the closing kilometre behind two Uno-X riders and he left his transfer late within the headwind to maneuver out from the obstacles and pounce simply because the ending gantries approached.
