Primož Roglič (Bora-Hansgrohe) cemented his total lead on the Critérium du Dauphiné with a second consecutive stage victory on Saturday.
The Slovenian, who took the chief’s yellow jersey after profitable Friday’s sixth stage, sprinted from a small group to win stage seven on the Samoëns 1600 ski resort, profitable simply forward of Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Leaase a motorcycle). After ending second on Friday, Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) was third, two seconds again.
Roglič was served effectively by his Bora-Hansgrohe crew all through the 155.3km stage. The crew allowed breakaway rider, Marc Soler (UAE-Emirates) the digital lead, earlier than closing the Spaniard down solely with two kilometres to go.
Roglič will begin Sunday’s remaining stage with a lead of 1:02 on Jorgenson, with Derek Gee (Israel-Premier Tech) an extra 11 seconds down. Remco Evenepoeol (Soudal-Quickstep) who started the day second total misplaced time on the ultimate climb and slipped again out of the highest 5 total.
