Lise Revol claimed a shocking dwelling win for France in an exhilarating junior girls’s race on the 2025 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Liévin.
After a gripping battle with Czechia’s Barbora Bukovská which ebbed and flowed all through the five-lap race, Revol fought again on the final lap to catch her opponent and drop her for the victory within the last few corners.
Revol had taken an early lead on lap one solely to be chased down and handed by Bukovská mid-way via the race. The Czech rider then appeared the stronger of the pair and celebrated on the finish of lap 4 after pondering she had received the race.
She was being introduced again by Revol who maintained her power over the steps and was more proficient within the technical sectors, pushing Bukovská all the way down to second after making a small mistake which gave the French rider respiratory house to have fun on the end.
Rafaelle Carrier (Canada) received the carefully fought battle for third place 1:43 behind the 2 leaders, beating junior European CX champion Anja Grossmann (Switzerland) to the ultimate podium spot.
