Milan-San Remo Women: Lorena Wiebes catches late-attacker Elisa Longo Borghini on the line to win revived Monument

Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) received the 2025 Milan-San Remo Women, crossing the road first within the dash of a small group forward of Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike), with Noemi Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly) ending third.

After a busy descent from the Poggio, Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) had attacked instantly and bought a sizeable hole at first till Wiebes’ teammate, world champion Lotte Kopecky went all-out within the chase.

Longo Borghini was a number of seconds forward on the flamme rouge, and Vos was first to launch her dash, prompting Wiebes to react. As they handed Longo Borghini, Vos took the lead, however Wiebes had a final punch left, passing Vos within the ultimate ten metres to win.
