Jelte Krijnsen (Parkhotel Valkenburg) claimed his first skilled victory with a solo triumph on stage 4 of the PostNord Tour of Denmark in Havnevejen. Krijnsen broke away from his late-race companions, together with Anton Stensby (Coop-Repsol), with lower than six kilometres remaining. Stensby managed to carry on for second place.
In third place was Tobias Lund Andresen (dsm-firmenich PostNL), taking the sector dash, celebrating as he crossed the road 24 seconds again. Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny) completed safely within the peloton to retain the blue chief’s jersey.
Escaping early within the 177.5km stage have been Kristian Egholm (Lidl-Trek Future Racing), Konrad Czabok (Mazowsze Serce Polski), Alexander Arnt Hansen (Airtox-Carl Ras), Victor Grue Enggaard (BHS-PL Beton Bornholm) and Pelle Køster (Coloquick). The King of the Hills factors on supply on the 10km circuit doomed the quintet who have been caught the third and closing time across the loop.
Another break quickly escaped, this time with Krijnsen, Stensby and Mads Andersen (Airtox-Carl Ras) who labored collectively till Krijnsen made his decisive transfer with one lap to go within the ending circuit.
De Lie holds 5 seconds over Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) because the race concludes on Sunday with 160km stage 5 from Roskilde to Bagsværd.
