The opening stage of the UAE Tour 2025 was taken by Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek forward of Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceuninck in a brutal uphill dash to the road in Liwa.
The race started with a stage that was very troublesome to foretell with a lumpy stage within the dunes round Liwa with a brief 138km stage. The riders took on changeable climate with some speckles of rain to start with adopted by sunshine.
Three riders went up the highway proper initially of the stage which instantly noticed the formation of the breakaway. Two VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizane riders, Federico Biagini and Manuele Tarozzi, in addition to Carlos Samudio of Solution Tech-Vini Fantini. They had a most hole of simply over three minutes.
The stage began off on an arrow straight and flat in the direction of Liwa. However, the race went into the sand dunes and a cycling-specific highway that tackled the hilly terrain for 2 laps.
The race then headed to Liwa for a really chaotic and steep closing kick to the road with the pure sprinters going up towards Pogačar in addition to some puncheurs. But, it was Milan who managed to energy to victory and the chief’s jersey.
