Multi-discipline riders Thalita de Jong and Thomas Mein each crossed the road solo to win a muddy version of Gravel One Fifty, the second Dutch spherical of the 2024 UCI Gravel World Series.
De Jong, the 2016 cyclocross world champion who has been delivering a resurgent season on the street with Lotto Soudal Ladies, was taking over her first gravel race. She completed greater than a minute forward of Mariëlle Trouwborst after which in third place it was Wendy Oosterwoud, who fought again from a crash at 40km into the race.
British cyclocross and mountain bike racer Mein received forward of Rick Ottema and Brent Clé, who had a good battle to the road, with Jasper Ockeloen and Adne Koster simply behind.
The race performed out over a muddy flat 150km course, with loads of rain within the lead in. The course began and completed in Peize, on the border of the three northern provinces of The Netherlands – Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe – looping south by way of a mixture of filth roads, gravel roads and grass sections. As a spherical of the UCI Gravel World Series riders within the prime 25% qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships on October 5-6.
Last 12 months the race was received by Pauliena Rooijakkers, who this 12 months wasn’t current given she was racing the Giro d’Italia Women, and Sam Gademan. This 12 months Gademan got here throughout the road in twenty seventh spot.
